Kevin Smochek

Kevin Paul Smochek, 38, 4 Rose Terrace, Punxsutawney, died Sunday, June 5, 2005, following an accident near Punxsutawney.

Mr. Smochek was born April 4, 1967, in DuBois, a son of Shirley (Daisher) Swarmer. Aug. 5, 1999, he married Shirl Loar, who survives.

Mr. Smochek was a member of Moose Lodge No. 954 of Punxsutawney and a 1985 graduate of Punxsutawney High School. He was the owner/operator of his own trucking company.

In addition to his mother and his wife, surviving relatives include his step-father, Eugene Swarmer of Punxsutawney; two step-children, Justin Ohler and Malorie Ohler, both of Punxsutawney; two sisters, Terri Shiock and husband Charles of Florida and Kimberly Swarmer of Punxsutawney; his grandmother, Helen Smochek of Punxsutawney; and his father- and mother-in-law, John R. H. and Betty Jane Loar of Frostburg, Md. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Chester Smochek; and a sister, Carol Jean Smochek.
